Ellen, a master educator, is a creative, passionate, and encouraging math teacher with over 25 years of experience working in both public and private schools as a classroom teacher and math coordinator. She earned her B.S. from Boston University’s School of Education and holds a New Jersey K–8 teaching certificate. Extensively trained in the Singapore Math approach, Ellen has successfully implemented the program in two schools, including training fellow teachers in its methods. She is dedicated to eliminating math anxiety by presenting ideas, techniques, and strategies tailored to each student, fostering meaningful learning that goes beyond memorization. Known for instilling a “can‑do” attitude, she helps students experience success and joy in learning while building confidence in their mathematical abilities. Ellen currently teaches and coordinates math in a private school in Bergen County. Outside the classroom, she enjoys reading, drawing, arts and crafts, and spending time with her family and friends.

Master Educators are our most experienced teachers, with a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience. Expert tutors are talented tutors who are either certified teachers with less than 5 years experience, are experts in their field, or are gifted at teaching certain subject areas.

Our Master tutors are professional experienced teachers with subject matter experience and a minimum of 5 years of teaching/tutoring experience. Our Expert tutors are seasoned tutors with subject matter experience and a minimum of 3 years of teaching/tutoring experience. Each tutor undergoes an extensive internal screening process including a thorough background check, demo lesson and content knowledge quizzes.

Our tutors conduct home visits throughout Northern New Jersey with our office based out of Livingston, New Jersey. When you select Teacher Tutors you can be confident that you are not signing up with an impersonal large chain.
