Certified, vetted teachers
Classroom-experienced New Jersey educators, background-checked before their first session.
Our certified New Jersey teachers work with Short Hills and Millburn students at every level and across every subject, from elementary reading and math to middle school, high school honors and AP courses, and the SAT and ACT. We support families at both the public and independent schools in and around Short Hills, and each plan is built around your child's actual classes, assignments, and goals.

Our learning-disability tutoringIn almost every physics rescue we run, the trouble is one of these five.
What it looks like: Your child follows the lecture and nods along, then stares at a blank homework page. Knowing what a concept means and knowing how to attack a problem with it are different skills.
How our tutors help: Our tutors teach an explicit problem-solving routine: identify what is given and asked, choose the principle, draw the picture, then do the algebra. Physics problems reward a rehearsed process far more than raw cleverness, and rehearsal is exactly what sessions provide.
What it looks like: The physics reasoning is right, but the answer is wrong: a dropped negative, a unit left in centimeters, an equation solved for the wrong variable. Points bleed away on the math, not the physics.
How our tutors help: We solve symbolically first and substitute numbers last, run a units check every time, and rebuild the specific algebra each topic leans on. Most lost physics points are algebra housekeeping, and housekeeping is teachable.
What it looks like: Force and motion problems collapse because the student skips the diagram or draws it wrong, so Newton's second law gets applied to a picture that is missing a force.
How our tutors help: Our tutors make the free-body diagram non-negotiable and teach it as a habit: every force, correct direction, then break into components. A correct diagram turns most mechanics problems from guessing into bookkeeping.
What it looks like: The scenario is clear, but turning a car decelerating from 30 to 0 over 4 seconds into the right kinematics equation is where it stalls. Choosing which equation to use feels random.
How our tutors help: We teach students to list knowns and unknowns first, then match them to the equation that fits, so equation choice becomes a decision instead of a guess. This single habit reclaims a large share of test points.
What it looks like: AP Physics 1 and 2 demand explanations, graph interpretation, and experimental design on the free-response section, and strong problem-solvers still underperform on the writing.
How our tutors help: Our tutors coach the explanation and lab-design genre directly and rehearse released free-response questions with rubric review, so students learn where AP points actually live. The AP Physics 1 pass rate is low; familiarity with the exam is the honest edge.
