Leena, an expert tutor, has a Bachelor’s in Pre-Medical Psychology (Development concentration) with a minor in Creative Writing from Rutgers University, as well as a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Yeshiva University. She is a licensed counselor and a professor at Yeshiva University, where she teaches Intro to Psychology and Experimental Psychology. She also holds a New Jersey Substitute Teacher Certification and is Nurturing Heart Certified, allowing her to bring a compassionate, relationship-centered approach to every learning environment. Leena has extensive tutoring experience across subjects — including math, science, reading, and writing — and draws on her psychology background to strengthen students’ comprehension, analytical abilities, and independence. Her greatest strength is her ability to connect with students intellectually and emotionally, using real-world examples and evidence-based strategies to build confidence, encourage academic growth, and support healthy self-regulation.

Teacher Tutors offers talented teachers and tutors that fit into two different qualification tiers; Master Educators and Expert Tutors. Master Educators are our most experienced teachers, with a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience. Expert tutors are talented tutors who are either certified teachers with less than 5 years experience, are experts in their field, or are gifted at teaching certain subject areas.

Our Master tutors are professional experienced teachers with subject matter experience and a minimum of 5 years of teaching/tutoring experience. Our Expert tutors are seasoned tutors with subject matter experience and a minimum of 3 years of teaching/tutoring experience. Each tutor undergoes an extensive internal screening process including a thorough background check, demo lesson and content knowledge quizzes.

Our tutors conduct home visits throughout Northern New Jersey with our office based out of Livingston, New Jersey. When you select Teacher Tutors you can be confident that you are not signing up with an impersonal large chain.
